A little story about Luna

Luna feels things deeply and often keeps them inside. A story about sharing a sad feeling with a friend.

Luna waving hello
“See you tomorrow!” Luna waves as her friends swim home. She never says goodbye. The Sighing Hollow goes quiet. Luna’s tentacles droop a little.
Luna shaping a glowing heart from sand in her hollow
She swirls the sand into a glowing heart. “This is how I feel,” she thinks. Soft, and a little heavy. The heart glows just for her.
Luna looking sad, with a tear on her cheek
A tear slides down. Luna lets it. Crying is one way sad comes out. Tomorrow, she decides, she will show the heart to Hugo. Sad is lighter when it’s shared.

Your child can answer, point to a picture, or simply keep listening.

For grown-ups

A picture can be an invitation. Let your child decide whether it needs a story.
