A little story about Hugo

Hugo is the guide — and even guides get full. A small story about letting friends help.

Hugo gliding along a glowing current in EmOcean
Hugo glides through EmOcean, leaving a rainbow trail. Somebody needs him over here. Somebody over there. Off he goes, helping, helping, helping.
Hugo holding a bowl of Emogoo snacks
Snack break! A quick Emogoo on the way. “Lovalicious!” Then on to the next friend. There is always a next friend.
Hugo looking dizzy, his tentacles glowing in many colors
Too many feelings at once. Hugo’s arms glow every color. He wobbles, dizzy. Luna’s soft voice, off to the side: “Hugo, rest with me.” Hugo sits. Being helped feels good, too.

Your child can answer, point to a picture, or simply keep listening.

For grown-ups

All feelings are okay. Not every action is. In the stories, the friends then ask together: “What could we do?” Hugo is a companion, not someone with every answer.

In the books

Hugo guides Finley in Finley and the Shadow of Fear — and appears in every Lovetopus book.
