A little story about Twizzy

Twizzy loves surprises; Coral doesn’t always. A story about noticing a friend’s face — and changing the game.

Twizzy the snail with his rainbow shell
Twizzy is a tiny snail with a rainbow shell. He loves shiny things, zipping fast, and surprises. Today he has a plan. A big one.
Twizzy hiding in his shell on Coral’s back, peeking out
He tucks into his shell on Coral’s back. Very quiet. Very still. Coral looks around. “Twizzy? Twizzy?” She sounds worried. Twizzy waits.
Twizzy peeking over Coral’s head as she looks up in surprise
Whoosh! Twizzy swings down over her face. Coral jumps. “Oh! That scared me.” Twizzy sees her big eyes. Oh. Her heart is still thumping. Next time: a smaller surprise.

Your child can answer, point to a picture, or simply keep listening.

For grown-ups

Friends don’t have to be alike to have fun together. Coral and Twizzy make room for each other.
